August is National Breastfeeding Month, a time to acknowledge, empower, and celebrate mothers and families on their breastfeeding journeys. The Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD) is thrilled to announce two upcoming breastfeeding support events in celebration of National Breastfeeding Month. These events provide a supportive environment for women, families, and the community to celebrate and promote breastfeeding.

Event details:

Barry County (In Partnership with Corewell Pennock):

Date: Thursday, August 1st

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: Barry County Courthouse Lawn, 220 W State St, Hastings

Eaton County:

Date: Wednesday, August 7th

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: AL!VE, 800 W. Lawrence Ave, Charlotte

These events will feature a range of activities and resources, including:

• Free milk storage bags and breastfeeding pads for the first 20 breastfeeding or pregnant moms at each event
• Free raffle items, including Boppy pillows and breastfeeding covers
• Expert speakers discussing the benefits of breastfeeding
• Opportunities for community members to share their breastfeeding experiences
• Organizations offering information and resources about breastfeeding, maternal and infant health, parenting, and prevention
• A walking path to enjoy featuring breastfeeding facts along the way

Everyone is welcome to join! These events are open to all pregnant and breastfeeding individuals, community members and organizations who support breastfeeding, as well as businesses interested in learning more about how to become a breastfeeding-friendly business. Join us as we celebrate the beauty of breastfeeding and empower mothers to nourish the future generation.
