Barry-Eaton District Health Department Launches Community Survey
August 2, 2023
The Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD) is undertaking a strategic planning process to create a community-informed, action-oriented strategic plan which will support Barry and Eaton Counties in being communities where everyone has the opportunity to live a long, healthy, and active life.
Over the last 3+ years, the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated how vital it is for communities to have a dedicated and robust public health department that is able to support the needs of the residents who live and work there. As the burden of the COVID-19 diminishes, there remains countless public health threats that have begun challenging an already stressed system. Now is the time to collaboratively create a strategic plan that will allow BEDHD to efficiently function at the greatest capacity. Community input is crucial to the effectiveness of public health agencies, and the Community Survey is a step towards making sure every voice in the community is heard and reflected in future BEDHD services and programming.
BEDHD is seeking community input to inform the strategic planning of our priorities and goals over the next five years. Individuals living or working in Barry or Eaton County are encouraged to complete a brief survey to help inform the strategic planning process and support the health of the Barry and Eaton County community. The community survey can also be found on BEDHD’s Facebook page and website, at barryeatonhealth.org.
BEDHD has partnered with Public Sector Consultants, a Lansing-based, nonpartisan research and consulting firm to facilitate the planning process, including distributing and analyzing surveys.
Any information shared will remain confidential and contact details will not be collected. The survey is open until Thursday, August 24th.
