NOW OPEN: OD2A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)
The Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD) has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) under our CDC-funded Overdose Data to Action (OD2A): LOCAL grant. BEDHD is seeking qualified organizations to support overdose prevention efforts in Barry County and/or Eaton County through one or both of the following components:
Linkage to Care (CDC Strategy 1A)
Funding is available to support navigator-based services that provide warm handoffs to evidence-based substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and harm reduction services.
Activities may include:
- Connecting individuals to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD)
- Linking individuals to behavioral health treatment
- Providing direct connections to harm reduction resources
- Care coordination following identification of SUD or nonfatal overdose
- Supporting retention and re-engagement in care
Available funding: Up to $145,000 total
Award range: $25,000–$120,000
Indirect costs capped at 15%
Clinical Best Practices (CDC Strategy 4A)
Funding is available to support implementation or improvement of policies and protocols aligned with the 2022 CDC Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain within healthcare settings.
Activities may include:
- Initiation or delivery of MOUD
- Pain and opioid stewardship policies
- Buprenorphine induction protocols
- Standardized referral processes (e.g., warm handoffs)
- Health IT/EHR workflow improvements
- Embedding navigators within clinical care teams
Available funding: Up to $95,000 total
Award range: $10,000–$95,000
Indirect costs capped at 15%
