The Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD) is offering Certified Professional Food Manager Classes in Barry and Eaton counties, beginning January 2024. The classes offered by BEDHD meet the Michigan Food Law requirements of having a certified manager at the food service establishment.

The Certified Professional Food Manager Class is a ONE-day class and test from 8:30am – 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break. BEDHD requests that all attendees arrive 15 minutes early as late arrivals will be unable to take the exam. Upon request, exams can be made available in both Spanish or Chinese (Traditional & Mandarin).

There will be four classes offered at each county throughout the year. Please see class dates and registration info below:

Barry County Dates (Location: BEDHD Office – 330 W. Woodlawn Ave. Hastings, MI 49058)
• Tuesday, January 30th - Registration Deadline: January 16th
• Tuesday, May 14th - Registration Deadline: April 30th
• Tuesday, August 20th - Registration Deadline: August 6th
• Tuesday, November 19th - Registration Deadline: November 5th

Eaton County Dates (Location: Eaton RESA – 1790 Packard Hwy. Charlotte, MI 48813)
• Tuesday, January 23rd - Registration Deadline: January 9th
• Tuesday, May 7th - Registration Deadline: April 23rd
• Tuesday, August 13th - Registration Deadline: July 30th
• Tuesday, November 12th - Registration Deadline: October 29th

Due to a limited amount of class space, all class/testing participants must pre-register & make payment when registering. The registration form can be found on the BEDHD website and must be submitted via mail, fax, email (BEDHD-EH@bedhd.org) or in-person at either office location. Payment must be received at time of registration. To pay with a credit card, please call or stop by the BEDHD office.
